He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Koch and Pauline Koch (Schulte); and his siblings, Natalia Koch, Linus Koch, Louis Koch, Madonna Feldman, Charles Koch, Rev. Eugene Koch and Richard Koch.

He is survived by: his siblings, Walter Koch (Elaine) of Bentley, Iowa and Mary Agnes Lampe (LeRoy) of Omaha, Nebraska; and his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Koch and Mary Koch Bell of Clark, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Catholic Charities Fund of Des Moines.

“I am so sorry to hear about the death of Padre Pablo, a beloved priest. I use Spanish, since I grew to know and love him during my 5 years in Bolivia. I found out about his death from Padre Raúl in Santa Cruz, Bolivia this morning. His ministry and love for the people of Bolivia is cherished and remembered. We served in the town of La Guardia for 3 1/2 years. I will always treasure the wisdom and lessons that he shared with me during this time. Con mucho cariño, Padre Jimmy, New Orleans”
