He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Metzger and Julia Metzger (Peterson); and his siblings, Leona Meppen and Jim Metzger. He is survived by: his wife Vira Triggs; his daughter Pam Metzger of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren, Jeff Metzger (Kelly) of Palmer and Julie Glosser (Mark) of Lincoln, NE; and his great grandchildren, Joel Metzger of Palmer, Justin Metzger of Palmer, Jordan Glosser (Cheyenne) of Hoyt, KS and Ashli Glosser of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 Henrietta Ave, Palmer, IA 50571). A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at the Palmer Cemetery.
