She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Martens and Lettie Martens (Saathoff); her son Billy; her sister Darlene; and her siblings-in-law, Jean Ahart, Donna Carman, Denny Shipler, Virgil Carman, Stanley Troxel, Arvin Christensen and Bill Ahart.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Carman; her children, Carol Stier (Craig), Mark Carman (Kathy), Cathy Koball (Dan) and Caren Swanson (Doug); her daughter-in-law Brenda Carman of Grand Meadow; her siblings, Charles Martens (Jo Ann) of Clear Lake, Mary Shipler-Oleson (Gordon) of Burt and Richard Martens (Sheila) of Lime Springs; and also, Eugene Carman (Judy) of Cresco, Doris Troxel, Dorothy Christensen of Grand Meadow, Dale Carman of Spencer and Mary Ann Carman of Humboldt. She is also survived by grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
