He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Kern and Gladys Kern (Hosler); his brothers, Ted and Jim Kern; and his granddaughter Amy Vore.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wiedeman; his children, Greg Kern (Erin) of Davenport, Jeff Kern (Candy) of Manchester, NH and Karen Onken (Matt) of Donahue, IA; his grandchildren, Zachary, Rachael, Joseph, Alena, Isabelle, Tristen, James, Jacob, Sarah, Robert, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Kristen; and his sister Rosie Morse. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
