He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest G. Olson and Verna L. Olson (Weckwerth); and his siblings, Carolyn, Marilyn Olson and Jeffrey Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Tara Lynn Olson of Pacific Junction; his stepsons, Mike Pautler of Pacific Junction and Nathan Pautler of Omaha; his sister Marcia Whalen (Patrick); his niece Lori Carlson (James); his nephew Josh Olson; his great-nephew Brandon Carlson; and his great-nieces, Hailey and Amari Olson.
