He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Vinton and Alice McCormick Vinton; his former wife Beverly Nelle Thomas (Betty) of Glenwood; and his brothers, Wendell Vinton and Charles (Ila Vinton).
He is survived by: his wife Myra Sue; his sons, Joe Vinton (Sandy) of Glenwood, Iowa and Steven Vinton (Carol) of Glenwood, Iowa; his stepchildren, Jody Smythe (Bill) of Inlet Beach, Florida and Clay Lincoln (Brooke) of Glenwood, Iowa; his grandchildren, Heath Vinton (Holly), Brenda Vinton, Stephanie Vinton-Pollock (Dan Pollock) and Amy Vinton; and his stepgrandchildren, Corey Lieneman (Casey), Emily Smythe, Preston Lincoln, Collin Lincoln and Hallee Lincoln. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, extended family, a host of friends and Babe the dog.
