He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schropp and Margaret Schropp (Klein); and his siblings, Darlene Bryn, Donnie and Ronnie Schropp.

He is survived by: his wife Kriss; his daughters, Shania Schropp and Randi Daniels (Nick); and his siblings, Eugene Schropp, Carol Dolezal (Bill), Marilyn Brenneman (Elmer), Beverly Tolley, Tom Schropp (Julie Weidler), John Schropp and Peggy Grove (Gary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jim's memory.
