With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Daniel Swanson Jr. (Oxford, Iowa), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 2, 2019 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sr and Clara Scheitler Swanson Sr.; his sister Jean Brady; and his son-in-law Steven Gerth. He is survived by: his spouses, Betty M. Bollinger and Betty Swanson; his children, Danny Akers (Vickie) of Williamsburg, Georgia Gerth of Muscatine, Nancy Swanson of Oxford, Linda Keast (Russell) of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Swanson (Mary Lou) of Amana; and his grandchildren, Devon, Danielle, Bill, Evan, Chris, Jesse, Zach, Sam, Jacob and Lauren. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice in George's name.
