She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Barker and Eva Barker; her husband Robert Nelson; her siblings, Evelyn Carlson, Mildred Daugherty and Marvin Barker; and her half-brothers, Howard, Richard and Edward Barker.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Nelson-Thorson (Michael) of Clive, IA, Vicky Dahlgren (Jeff) of Adel, IA and Shelly Nelson of Ottumwa, IA; her granddaughters, Stacey Nelson-Beadel of Urbandale, IA and Laura (Brandon); her great grandchild Camdyn Nelson Sutton of Urbandale, IA.; and her sister Joann McClurg of Bloomfield, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
