It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marjorie Helgerson (Ottumwa, Iowa), born in Red Oak, Iowa, who passed away on December 24, 2019, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Wenstrand and Phoebe Wenstrand; her husband Austin T Helgerson; and her siblings, Kenneth Wenstrand, Curtis Wenstrand and Phyllis Doolittle.
She is survived by: her children, Ole Helgerson (late Katherine Hlavka) of Carson, Sarah Helgerson (Douglas Vandahl) of Kanata, Ontario, Martha Helgerson (Donald Houston) of Winnipeg and Manitoba; and her grandchildren, Robert Vandahl (Gen Boisjoly), William Vandahl, Anna Houston and Mary Houston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship or to the Montgomery County History Center in Red Oak, Iowa.
