He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelias Okones and Matilda Sietsema Okones; his wife Glenda Harlan; his daughter Lauri Glenn Okones; and his grandson Michael Okones.
He is survived by: his children, Lance Okones (Tracy) of Sigourney and Lyndamyrth Stokes of Azle; and his siblings, Neil Okones Jr. (Janice) and Thelma Ruter of Wellsburg, Iowa.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Holm Funeral Home (320 N Shuffleton St, Sigourney, IA 52591). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
