He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Maxine Valee Smith Baggs; his mother-in-law Irene Fisk; and his sister-in-law Carol Patkin (Raymond). He is survived by: his wife Janet Baggs; his daughter Kathryn (Evan); his sister Denise Eakins of Ottumwa; his brother-in-law Richard Fisk of Horn Lake, Mississippi; his nephews, Tony Patkin (Sara) of Ankeny, James Young (Amy) of Blue Rapids and Brian Eakins (Amanda) of Ottumwa; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Morgan, Alex, Audrey Patkin, Bradley, Braden, Breanna, Brooklynn Young, Madison, Draiven and Allivia Eakins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family.
