She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Petersen and Gertrude Petersen (Schebler); her husband Melvin May; her sisters, Nancy Miller and Carol Reider; and her brother-in-law Roger Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Gwen Twedt (Gary) of Ottumwa, Greg May (Marcia) of Webster City, IA and Gary May (Brenda) of Drakesville, IA; her grandchildren, Lyndsey Twedt, Allison Lacey (Josh), Andrew May, Brandon Asklund (Breta) and Megan Schreiner (Dean); her great grandchildren, Jordan, Jeffrey, Drayton, Jakob, Lucas and Van; her sister Suzanne Petersen of Phoenix; and her brother-in-law David Reider of Leesburg, Florida..
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church in Webster City or Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa, Iowa.
