He was predeceased by: his son Lucas Degen; his brothers, Larry and Robert; his grandparents, Donald, Florence Box (Rolow), Louis and Luella Derrig (Conlon); and his brother-in-law Kenny Davis.

He is survived by: his daughter Whitney (Michael Hutchinson); his grandchildren, Tanner, Reagan, Brentley and Merlin; his siblings, Donald and Tonya Box (Arnold); his nieces and nephews, Ryan and Cathy Hobza (Box); his great-niece Carrie Hoover (Box); and also, Clare, Coleen Willsher (Box), Mark, Julia Box (Henery), Jerome, Colette Donner (Box), Justin, Carol Schnabel (Box), Connie Davis (Box), Joseph and Cheryl Hughlette (Box). He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
