He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Henry and Helena Marie Gay (Denburger). He is survived by: his wife Betty Dunwoody of Oskaloosa; his children, Howard Gay (Mary) of Rose Hill, Larry Gay (Christy) of Oskaloosa, Shirley Goemaat (Steve) of New Sharon and Beverly Allsup (Val) of Cedar; and his grandchildren, Travis Gay (Jenny), Aimee Higgins (Jon), Joshua Gay (Katie), Nathaniel Gay (Becca), Holly Verhoef (Dean), Heather Malone, Matthew Molesworth, Rebecca Brittian, Christina Hatfield (Jarrod), Eric Molesworth, Katie Forbes (Justin), Brett Smithart (Hope) and Ryan Smithart (Michelle).
