He was predeceased by: his parents, David Theodore and Edith Elizabeth Ver Steegh (Cope); his wife Bertha Mae Criss; his children, Beverly Prine and Frederick; his sister Evelyn Dunnick (Art); his siblings-in-law, Ed, Paul Criss and Sylvia Cline; and his friend Wilma Ver Steegh.
He is survived by: his daughter Beth Otto (Eric) of Yorkville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Brent Otto (Victoria) of Yorkville and Allison Benedetti (John) of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; his sister Anita; and his brother-in-law Frank Younkin of Glendale. He is also survived by great-grandson and five great-granddaughters.
Memorial contributions can be made to Beth Otto to be used towards a memorial bench in New Sharon or to Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House.
