He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Roland and Mary Roland (Spencer); and his siblings, Merrill Roland, Larry Roland, Barb Pettyjohn, Darlene Pettyjohn and Norma Buck.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Roland of Oskaloosa; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Kerr of Minnesota and Katherine Medeiros-Oropeza of Texas; and his sisters, Sandra Goemaat of Knoxville and Linda O'Brien of Knoxville.
