With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis Joy Herrington (Oskaloosa, Iowa), who passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Johnston and Edna Johnston (Simmers); her former husband O. Keith McBurney; her husband Samuel Herrington; her siblings, Robert, John Johnston, Barbara Ann Allgood and Betty Jean "Tootie" Everhart; her siblings-in-law, Jacqueline Johnston, Carolyn "Susie" Collier, Ray Allgood, Jack McBurney, David Herrington, Dennis Herrington and Wayne Herrington; her stepsons, Randy and Rick Herrington; and her nephew Danny Johnston.
She is survived by: her children, Michael McBurney (Denise), Bruce McBurney (Donna) and Brenda Todd (Brook); her stepdaughters, Brenda Johnson, Jeanne Fredinburg and Stacey Connor; her siblings-in-law, Linda Herrington, Sandra Herrington, Mildred Herrington and Glen Everhart; and her grandchildren, Molly Bruns (Mark), Scott McBurney (Tiffany), Keith Todd, Dalton McBurney, Dylan McBurney, Dakota McBurney, Tiffany Bartos (Matt), Misti Van Steenwyk (Mike), Dustin Vroegh and Jamie Vroegh. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
