He was predeceased by: his parents, Reed Ward and Violet Pearl Ward (Wignal); his wife Colleen; and his siblings, Keith, Roger and Jean.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicki Stevens (Rocky) of Oskaloosa, Julie Van Englehoven of Oskaloosa and Sheli Carter (Bobby) of Glidden, Iowa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brothers.
