She was predeceased by: her parents, Fritz Townsend and Thelma Townsend (Sutton); her husbands, Wallace Maddy and William Hewitt; her siblings, Charles, Harold, Raymond and Eleanor Sheffield; and her son-in-law Terry Childs.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Childs of Oskaloosa, IA, Stanley Maddy (Linda) of Mystic, IA and Steven Maddy (Sally) of Rose Hill, IA.; her grandchildren, Michelle Parks (Tony), Keane Maddy (Bobbie), Robbie Childs and Jason Maddy (Stacey); and her sister Roberta Steele (Russell) of Des Moines, IA.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
