With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Merle Virgil of Oskaloosa, Iowa, born in Primghar, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Merle left this world on November 11, 2024 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Leroy and Pearl Roberta Virgil (Mattice) of Gaza, Iowa.; his in-laws, Ray and Leona Davis; his brother Keith; his sister-in-law Evelyn Virgil; his nephews, Kirk and Eric Virgil; and his siblings-in-law, Allyn Davis and Cas Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Davis; his daughter Rona Bradford (Doug) of Aitkin, MN; his grandson Garrick Bradford; his son Houston of Urbandale, IA; his granddaughter Gabrielle Schaaf (Brian); his great grandchildren, Blaire and Brady of Davenport, IA.; his brothers, Robert Virgil (Ila) of Norton, KS, Chuck Virgil (Shirley) of Sutherland, IA, Dave (Lora) of Crane, MO and Lyle (Carol) of Canby, OR; his brother-in-law Lee Davis of Malabar, FL; and his aunt Nell Kammerer of Sutherland, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Langkamp Funeral Chapel (2116 N 3rd St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
