We bid farewell to Larry Penland of Oskaloosa, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Larry touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Penland and Evelyn Allison Penland (Edward); his wife Helen Penland; and his grandson Samuel Penland. He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Penland (Joni Doll) of Urbandale and Greg Penland (Peggy) of Old Monroe, Missouri; his grandchildren, Kate Penland, Maggie Penland, Anna Parsons (Jacob) and Abby Lackey (Dylan); his great grandchildren, Beckham Parsons and Kyla Parsons; and his brother Jerry Penland (Judy) of Leawood, Kansas.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bates Funeral Chapel (114 S 7th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Ecumenical Cupboard of Oskaloosa.
