He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bruce" and Mary E. "Bessie" Pugh (Lathrop); his former wife Dorothy Pugh; his grandson Andrew Wiggins; and his siblings, Kathryn Meacham, Mary Lou Ver Ploegh and Robert Pugh.
He is survived by: his daughter Kim Stek (Steve) of New Sharon; his grandchildren, Cody Stek (Ashley) of Barnes City, Kayla Dawley (Steven) of New Sharon and Tanner Stek (Madison) of Barnes City; his daughter Barb Witt (Ron) of New Sharon; his grandchildren, Adam Wiggins of Grinnell, Anthony Wiggins (Tori) of Ottumwa, Abby Dawley (Randy) of New Sharon, Amy Kitzmann (Zach) of Barnes City and Austin Witt of Iowa City; his daughter Cindy Stamp (Tracy) of Iowa City; his grandchild Shannon Stamp of Iowa City; his great grandchildren, Lane Kitzmann, J. R. Stek, Payson Witt, Bronson Dawley, Barrett Dawley, Maddox Dawley, Harper Stek, Lucas Wiggins and Stetson Stek; and his sister Carol Ann Kinderknecht of Oskaloosa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Legion or the V.F.W. in Oskaloosa.
