It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John L. Sherlock of Oskaloosa, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on November 30, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Sherlock and Norine Brett Sherlock; his sisters, Susan (Vito Pingitore) of Elmhurst and MaryAnn (Jack Barrett); his grandson Lucas Sherlock; and his nephew Richard Sherlock.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thoma of Oskaloosa; his sons, David Sherlock of Fort Collins, Ryan Sherlock (Kate) of Van Meter and Matt Sherlock (Kandis) of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Dylan, Lennon, Maeve, Jack and Presley Sherlock; and his brother Kevin (Sally Sherlock) of St. Charles, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
