He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry J "Pop" Rempe and Marie W. Schut Rempe; and his sisters, Emma Kool, Grace Plate and Sarah Vandekieft.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Rempe of Oskaloosa; his children, Jerry Rempe (Kathleen) of Eddyville, Carol Hammer (Jerry) of Newton, Kenneth Rempe (Martha) of Ottumwa and David Rempe (Jen) of Beacon; his stepchildren, Diana Arment (Jim) of Eddyville, Rob Harvey (Hanna) of Leighton and Angela Werts (Jason) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Tiffany Beal (Jimmy), Andrew Swope, Jessica Kueter (Jeff), Erica Kitt (Tom), Adam Hammer (Amanda), Jennifer Whitlatch (Terry), Amy Abbott (Chris), Dayna Farrell (Steven), Jake Arment, Dalton Harvey and Isabel Harvey; and his sister Harriet Stout of New Sharon. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
