He was predeceased by: his brother Allen Wayne Bixler. He is survived by: his wife Donna Day of Oskaloosa; his children, Jim (Angela Bixler), Laurie (Stuart Valster) and John (Lesa Bixler); his grandchildren, Ryan Bixler, Andrew Bixler, Jessica Bixler, Kyle Bixler, Tara Netten, Joshua Valster, Christopher Valster, Alexandria Valster, Courtney Bettis, Cora Bixler and Benjamin Bixler; and his sister-in-law Helen Bixler.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
