He is survived by: his former wife Lisa Sytsma; his children, McKenzie VanDenBerg (Carter) of Oskaloosa, Madison Mitchell (Zach Anderson) of New Sharon, Alex Mitchell (Ashley) of Oskaloosa and Andrew Johannes (Tonya) of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Camryn, Carsyn VanDenBerg, Phynneas Mitchell, Lincoln and Landon Johannes; and his siblings, Larry Mitchell (Kathy) of Chariton, Sheryl Woods of Oskaloosa, Gary Mitchell of Oskaloosa and Carol Beadle (Mike) of Oskaloosa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
