He was predeceased by: his parents, Derrel Haines and Rachael Vought Haines; and his brothers, Glenn Haines and Merle Haines. He is survived by: his spouse Lois Aalbers; his son Jeff; his spouse Lois Haines of Oskaloosa; his children, Jeffrey Haines, Kimberly Haines of Oskaloosa and Debra Lynn Haines Porter; his grandchildren, Paul Ryan (Ashley), Crystal Broulik (Luke), Gregory Haines (Andy Corbin), Anastasia Porter and Alexander Porter; and his sisters, Beth Rickerd (Robert) of Newton, Edna Haines of Norwalk, Kae Wittich (Richard) of Des Moines, Rose Legg of Des Moines, Linda Haltom (Charles) of Kansas City and Marcena Bennett of Des Moines.
He requested that in lieu of flowers those that feel inclined to give, to please donate to an organization that they hold close to their heart.
