It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Thies of Oskaloosa, Iowa, born in Boone, Iowa, who passed away on August 1, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Swanson and Selma Swanson (Lindbom); her husband Raymond Thies; her son Gary Thies; her grandsons, Damion Eckhoff and John Eckhoff; her son-in-law Mike Hicklin; and her siblings, Robert Swanson, Charles Swanson, Helen Furst, Betty Meis, Marjory Showers, Dorothy Hovee and Mary Cofer.
She is survived by: her children, Sherrin Hicklin of Oskaloosa, Steve Thies (Lynn) of Longview, WA. and Edward Eckhoff of Bandon, OR.; and her grandchildren, Ayrrin Kostelnick (John) of El Paso, IL., Carey Moe (Loran) of Longview, WA. and Brooke Stokes (Eric) of Valley View, TX.. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
