With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Harold Fick (Oskaloosa, Iowa), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Harold left this world on December 11, 2024 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Harold may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Harold touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Artie VanZee; and his parents, Herman Fick and Anna Fick (Weifenbach). He is survived by: his sons, Bruce VanKooten of Goodyear, AZ, Brian VanKooten (Karen) of Ankeny and Brad VanKooten of Callender. He is also survived by 3 step-grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Palmer & Sons Funeral Home (1016 Church St, Gowrie, IA 50543). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Forest Cemetery (634 N 9th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577).
