Grace Fort Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Grace Fort of Oskaloosa, Iowa, born in Peabody, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 2, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Laurence Cooper and Florence Cooper (Slater); her husband Melton Lee Fort; her sons, Rick Fort (Carol) of Ottumwa, Bill Fort (Ann) of Burlington, Robert L Fort of Oskaloosa and Larry VanZee; her grandchildren, Joe VanZee (Laura), Jessica Allspach (Aaron), Carrie Mendibles, Chloe Benson (Jason), Anna Peters (Shane), Mason Fort, Fisher Fort, Levi Ruth (Allison), Jacob Ruth (Journey), Izaac Ruth (Jenna) and Phoenix Fort; her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Overbergen, Kaylee Gripp, Payton VanZee, Kaden VanZee, Harper Allspach, Palmer Allspach, Asa Ruth, Raina Ruth, Emersyn Ruth, River Ruth, Erinnie Mendibles, Sophia Mendibles, Maggie Beason, Ryder Benson and Hudson Peters; her daughter Teresa VanZee; and her grandson Zachary Fort. She was also cherished by her children and grandchildren.
