He is survived by: his parents, Daniel Boender (Mindy) of Oskaloosa and Sandy Hughes (Vander Meyden) of Oskaloosa; his wife Michelle Boender (Drahos) of Oskaloosa; his sons, Owen McKinney of Oskaloosa and Peyton Boender of Oskaloosa; his stepson Mattix Sparks of Oskaloosa; his brother Chad (Tonya); his nephews, Zachary and Elliott Boender of Knoxville; his stepsiblings, Jacob Baugh (Gabby) and Nicole Struss; his grandfather William A. Vander Meyden of Oskaloosa; his aunts and uncles, Dave Boender (Kerri), Dean Hoksbergen, Bruce Vander Meyden (Michelle) of Oskaloosa, Brian Vander Meyden of New York, Diane Boot of Florida and Nancy Graham (John) of Oskaloosa; and his cousins, Angela, Brad, Matt, Doug, Michelle, Jason, Maggie, Mallory and Jay.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
Memorials may be made to Mahaska Health Partnership Infusion Center or a charity of the donors choosing.
