It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elmer J. Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa, Iowa, who passed away on January 13, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob W. Veldhuizen and Ada E. Veldhuizen (Van Zee); his wife Carolyn Van Haaften; and his siblings, Edward, Arnold, Henry, Wayne Veldhuizen, Ruth Roudybush and Esther DePrenger.
He is survived by: his sons, Lyle Veldhuizen (Bonnie) of Milan, Evan Veldhuizen (Carol) of North Canton, Leon Veldhuizen (Catherine) of Wausau, Owen Veldhuizen (Nerys) of Llandudno and U. K.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Gale (Issac), Rebekah Heinold (Kurt), Timothy Veldhuizen (Gretchen), Lori Veldhuizen, Melissa Hardy (Martell), Chris Veldhuizen, Detric Veldhuizen, Chene Veldhuizen, Cory Veldhuizen (Kimberly), Tyler Veldhuizen (Arliss), Kelsey Veldhuizen, Jacob Veldhuizen (Kelly) and Joshua Veldhuizen; and his great grandchildren, Levi Gale, Caden Gale, Karalyn Gale, Avery Hardy, Carter Hardy, Willow Veldhuizen, Abel Veldhuizen, Claire Veldhuizen, Corynna Veldhuizen, Alia Veldhuizen, Mya Veldhuizen, Walker Veldhuizen, Alex Pelot and Lydia Heinold.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
