She was predeceased by: her father Kenneth; her husband Gysbert; her son Dennis Braaksma; and her siblings, Pauline Vincent, Dale Tish and Beulah Upah.

She is survived by: her children, Bonita Primley of Ladora, Wanda Braaksma of Cedar Rapids and Kenton Braaksma of Runnells; her daughter-in-law Sandra Braaksma of Nevada, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jennifer Halverson (Doug Kriegel), Nicholas Vande Berg (Michelle), Brandy Escher, Amy Braaksma, Shaun Braaksma (Alexandra), Roberta Gillam, Samantha McDowell, Elizabeth Bunker and Thomas Dale; and her brother Laverne Tish. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
