He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Roekel and Charlotta Van Roekel (Den Adel); his stepmother Verla; and his siblings, Barbara, Gladys, Sandra Van Roekel, Clarence Jr. and Howard Van Roekel.
He is survived by: his siblings, Henry Van Roekel (Twylah) of Leighton, Dorothy Hayes of Torrington, Carolyn Ogden of California, Doris Van Roekel of Oskaloosa and Dale Veldhuizen of Des Moines.
