He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schwab and Iola Trusler Schwab; his son Alex James Phillips; and his siblings, Lynn, Marion, John, Robert, Richard Schwab, June Vaughn, Kathryn Ione Schwab and Grace Garman.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Fowler of Oskaloosa; his children, Richard Schwab of Oskaloosa, Robert Schwab (Mary) of Delta and Davie Ann Barrere (Lance) of Rose Hill; his grandchildren, David Schwab (Kai), Amanda Lowe (John) and Owen Kirby; his great grandchildren, Hunter Schwab, Colton Schwab, Ashton Schwab and Jeremiah Kirby; his sister Dana DeGeest of Norwalk; his sister-in-law Eleanor Schwab of Reno, Nevada.; and also Somer Pearson.
Memorials may be made to the Stephen's Memorial Animal Shelter of Rose Hill Church Food Bank.
