He was predeceased by: his parents, John Veldhuizen and Hattie Veldhuizen (Schemper); his former spouse Icel Hutton; his wife Marie Roorda; his stepfather John Schemper; his siblings, Hendreen Branderhorst, Gradda Tien, Jay, Bill, Albert, Richard and Leroy; his stepson Al Roorda; and his friend Mary Hunt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharyn Spencer of Springfield, MO and Pam Lanning (Steve) of Lee's Summit, MO; his stepchildren, Linda Roorda Mein and John Roorda; his grandchildren, Shawn (Susan), Tom, Kim (Steve) and Scott; his great grandchildren, Garrick (Ashley), Danielle (Devon), Mandy (David), Molly and Alex; his great great grandchildren, Brock, Bayley, Kenzie, Wyatt, Fisher and Rocco; and his sister Veda Bousema (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
