He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sr. Gay and Iva Lott Gay; his wife Lois M. Tish; his sons-in-law, Bill Lawson and Dennis Shannon; and his siblings-in-law, Marvin Tish, Keith Tish, Arlo Tish and Verla Tish.
He is survived by: his children, Edwin Gay (Cindy) of Marshalltown, Debbie Shannon (Bruce) of Eldridge and Neisha Lawson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; his grandsons, Kelly Green (Karyn), Jeremiah Lawson (Bri) and Aaron Gay (Cortney); his great grandchildren, Kyanna, Kolsyn, Camber, Lyla, Bentley and Weston; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Tish, Janice Tish, Helen Edmundson and Roger Edmundson.
Memorials may be made to the family for a bench in the Antique Tractor area at the Southern Iowa Fair grounds or MHP Hospice Serenity House.
