She was predeceased by: her parents, William Pfau and Margret Pfau; her husband Herbert Leroy Lawson; and her sons, William Roy Lawson, Steven Jon Lawson and Aric James Lawson.
She is survived by: her children, Joni Drake (Frank) of Tucson, Pamela Erteld (Randy) of Blue Spring, Missouri, Jenny Perry of Indianapolis, Indiana and Gene Lawson (Chris) of Solon, Iowa; her daughters-in-law, Neisha Lawson of Coeur and D'Arcy VerBeek of Oskaloosa, Iowa; her sister Ruth Cockburn of Sebastian; and her grandchildren, Thomas Drake, Tabitha Blackstock, Courtney Spence, AJ Lawson, Tiffany Drake Buus, Jeremiah Lawson, Katherine Erteld, Devin Lawson, Steven Lawson, Stephanie Dalton, Andrew Lawson, Brett Erteld, Zachary Lawson, Sydney Lawson and Spencer Lawson. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and several special foster children.
