He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Earnest and Wilma Katherine Smith; his son Kevin Smith (Virginia Smith); and his siblings, Roberta Christensen and Gary Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Veasman of Indianola; and his sons, Mike Smith (Kelcie) of Chester, VA and Dennis Smith (Vickie) of Decatur, IA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
