She was predeceased by: her daughter Christie; her parents, William Hein and Nora Hein (Wade); her in-laws, Earl and Enid Updike; her daughter Cynthia Heckman; and her brother-in-law Robert Sparks.
She is survived by: her husband Randall Updike; her children, Kevin Updike (Janice) and Liana Updike of Osceola; her son-in-law Wendell Heckman of New Virginia; her grandchildren, Grant Heckman, Garrett Heckman, Luke Simmerman (Morgan), Danielle Holtry, Bobby Heilman (Nerriah), Seth Updike and Cameron Updike; and her siblings, Judy Sparks and Larry Hein (Diana). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (101 E View Pl, Osceola, IA 50213). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Joyce Elaine Updike passed peacefully, surrounded by family at Clarke County Hospital of complications of Parkinson's disease on March 20, 2025.
