He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hayden and Myrtle Hayden; his wife Helen Kay Martin; and his brother Dick. He is survived by: his children, Clay Hayden (Becky) of Olean and Carla May (Don) of Osceola; his grandchildren, Leslie, Jill, Jack Hayden, Maddy, Lauren Mickle, David May (Gavin), Dustin May and Delaney Mahan (Connor); and his great grandchild Madden Mahan.

Memorial contributions may be given in Carroll's memory to the St. Charles Parish.
