He is survived by: his wife Wilma Thurnau-Fickess of Osage; and his stepchildren, Rita Howe (Steve) of Rochester, Cathie Sveum of Rochester, Diana Bycoffe (David) of Forest Hill, Maryland and Doug Thurnau (Jennifer) of Waterloo. He is also survived by 13 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
