He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth R. Kruger; his grandson Ross Erdmann of Macomb; and his brother Howard Erdmann of Northwood. He is survived by: his brother Roger Erdmann of Northwood; his son Loran Erdmann (Paula) of Destin, Florida; his grandchild Hillary Fosdyck (Cory); his great grandchildren, Nash, Micah, Zion, Monroe and Crosley of Destin, Florida; and his children, Janet Ryerson (Roger) of Destin, Florida and Arlen Erdmann (Debbie) of Leesburg, Florida..

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the United Church of Christ in Osage or the Bolan Trinity United Methodist Church.
