She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Johnson and Ruth Johnson (Parker); her husband Norman Sponheim; her in-laws, Ingvald and Alice Sponheim; her sons-in-law, Duane "Bogie" Baun and David Barlett; her siblings, Florence Borcherding (Alvy), Margaret Olsen (Lowell), Carol McLaughlin, Eleanor Schallock (LaVern), Dale Johnson, Charles Johnson (Betty), Kenneth Johnson, Keith Johnson, Ivan Johnson and Harley Johnson; and her sister-in-law Margaret Melson (Charles).

She is survived by: her children, Joyce Baun of Detroit Lakes, MN, Ann Fisher (Jeff) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Don Sponheim (Karen) of Altoona, IA, Dean Sponheim (Cindy) of Nora Springs, IA and Mary Grey (Bob) of Madison Lake, MN; her sister Sharon Boyce (Jim) of Roseville, MN; and her siblings-in-law, Marjorie Johnson of Osage, IA, Frances Johnson of Osage, IA, Clarissa Johnson of Osage, IA, Kathy Johnson of Osage, IA, Jackie Johnson of Des Moines, IA and Al McLaughlin. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church (3269 Foothill Ave, Osage, IA 50461). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
