He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gerbig and Mary Gerbig (Adams); his parents-in-law, Paul and Emma Maas; his great grandchild Henry Farmer; his siblings, Rosemary Ellis, Lenard Gerbig and Melvin Gerbig; and his siblings-in-law, Roy Maas, Gary Odekirk, Leo Maas, Cliff Ellis and Dorothy Gerbig.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Maas of Osage; his children, David Gerbig (Mari) of Osage, Leanna Troge (Bruce) of Osage, Connie Fordyce (Royce) of Saginaw and Jerry Gerbig (Kelly) of Osage; his sister Jeanine Kockler of Hanlontown; and his siblings-in-law, Rosella Krahn (Richard) of Osage, Frances Odekirk of Cedar Falls, Penny Maas of Claremont, Minnesota and Lyle Maas of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchild and three step-great-grandchild.
