It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leone Kathryn Dunkelberg of Osage, Iowa, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Henry Schultz and Frances Kitzmann Schultz; her husband Albert Gibbs Dunkelberg; her daughter Kathryn Lucero; her siblings, Arthur Schultz, Marilyn Piepenbrink and Getrude Roorda; and her siblings-in-law, Ray Piepenbrink, Norma Schultz and Marion Mulvihill.
She is survived by: her sons, Kermit Dunkelberg (Kim Mancuso) and Kendall Dunkelberg (Kim Whitehead); her son-in-law Rudy Lucero; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hillman (Kyle), Michael Lucero (Rachel), Zoë Mancuso Dunkelberg and Aidan Whitehead Dunkelberg; her great grandchildren, Kathryn and Ira; her sons, George Ulrich (Judith Asher) of Venice, Jon Morten Mangersnes, Sissel (Maria) and Birgit (Lars); her brother David Schultz (Darlene) of Fort Dodge; and her brother-in-law Pete Dunkelberg of Orlando. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Osage (833 Ash St, Osage, IA 50461). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash St., Osage, The American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
