He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwald Nikolas and Marie Nikolas (Marzen); his wife Jean Eikenberry Stephens; his children, Eddie and Robin; his grandchildren, KayAnn and David; his siblings, Pauline, Edwald, Francys, Clair, Leo, Earl, Donald and Bette; and his siblings-in-law, Charlie, Karl, Russell, Edna, Violet and Irene.

He is survived by: his daughters, LaWanna McSweeney (James) and Rhonda Kramer; his daughter-in-law Sheryl Nikolas (Lynwood Hardy); and his sisters-in-law, Jeannette Nikolas and Beverly Nikolas. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
