It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Freese (Osage, Iowa), born in Dike, Iowa, who passed away on March 13, 2018, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Renko, Sr. and Henrietta Schmidt (Mammen); her daughter Marcia Gilliam; and her siblings, Renko Schmidt, Jr., Anna Werkman, Lucy Abels, Martha Schmidt, Irene Schmidt, Margaret Van Deest and Baby Helene.
She is survived by: her spouse Chris Freese of Osage; her children, Keith Freese (KaVetta) of Wentzville, Ardi Gisleson (Jon) of Floyd, Sheryl Dusenberry (Stuart) of Atlantic, Joan Gutzmer (Mark) of Minneapolis and Kristin Batson (Ernie) of Minneapolis; and her brother Carl Schmidt of Grundy Center. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
