He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Walter and Thea Stoen; and also, Elmer and Grace Lien. He is survived by: his daughter Celia Stoen (Lien); his grandchildren, Kolton and Kamryn; his friend Iowan; his husband Rev. David A. Werges of Meroa; his stepchildren, Kristopher and Becky Werges of Highlandville; his stepgrandchildren, Kolton, Kamryn, Kevin, Rachel Werges of Highlandville and Marcus Werges of Cayce; his siblings, Edward Stoen of Decorah, Laurel and Kip Groettum of Pine Island, Minnesota; and also, Harold, Celia Stoen of Highlandville, Allen, Esther Werges of Monona, Mary, Sheryl Zittergruen of Monona, Pam and Del Glover of Monona. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to charities close to Elayne's heart.
